The Wolf at the Door | Radio Interviews on Elder Financial Abuse

Wolf at the Door Elder Financial Abuse Interviews.jpgThe Wolf at The Door: Undue Influence and Elder Financial Abuse was first published on September 29, 2017. The book is available in both Kindle and paperback versions at Amazon. It is also available in both NOOK Book and paperback at Barnes & Noble.

The Wolf at the Door is full of stories, a hope for increasing awareness of elder financial exploitation and also a call to action. The National Adult Protective Services Association reports that elder financial abuse is a silent crime epidemic. Only 1 in 44 cases is ever reported. We as a society can certainly do better.

So, how is the effort to spread the book's message doing? The book's reception is gratifying. Bright and well informed influencers throughout the media have brought attention to the public health and elder protection issues raised in the book. For this report I'm only going to talk about radio. I've appeared on a number of interesting shows over the last few months.

Nationally acclaimed financial expert and host, Steve Pomeranz, had me as a guest on his very interesting and informative weekly financial radio show on NPR WLRN, a show syndicated to over 40 radio stations in 25 states. Ed Tyll, a marvelous radio personality, interviewed me for his show, a radio show with a loyal audience across the country on the Starcom Radio Network. I've also been interviewed on how to identify and combat elder financial abuse on a number of regional radio shows throughout the Midwest and South.

Getting closer to my own home, I appeared on KALW's "Your Legal Rights" program hosted by Chuck Finney. The program was live and also uplinked to the NPR Satellite for national distribution. I've heard from people around the country who wanted to know more about The Wolf at The Door. Chuck is an extraordinary host and very well versed in the law, having practiced it for some 51 years.

"Consumer Talk hosted by Michael Finney" on KGO 810 was another delightful interview. Michael Finney, like Chuck Finney (I don't know if they're related), is a very knowledgeable host and has a long history of commitment to spreading news helpful to all of us.

There are a number of radio shows scheduled for this month. Printed media, websites, podcasts and magazines have also played a part about spreading the information that is addressed in The Wolf at The Door.

In the meantime our very busy practice in trust, estate and elder financial abuse litigation is growing in both geographic scope and financial matters at issue. Our representation of clients living in California, as well as outside the state in California's major urban areas, is both a labor of love and a continuing challenge. Even with over 40 years of law practice, I continue to learn. The clients whom we serve and stories that we hear are abundant. If you wish to share your story with us call us at 916-313-3030. We'll be happy to speak with you.
