It's now 2019, and here at Hackard Law we are grateful for new challenges and new opportunities. 2018 was a year that kept us very busy - week in and week out, our attorneys fanned out across California to protect the beneficiary rights of clients in estate and trust litigation. Wherever possible, we'd seek a path to mediation as a way to pursue the client's best interests and minimize conflict. We've also been more active than ever in taking on perpetrators of elder financial abuse and holding them accountable in civil court.
Hackard Law's work in the legal trenches gave me the idea for my first book, The Wolf at the Door: Undue Influence and Elder Financial Abuse, which made it to the top of Amazon's Elder Abuse category last year. It also provided me the chance speak in-depth about how to identify and fight elder exploitation in interviews for radio, television and print media. This year I look forward to similar public outreach with the upcoming release of my new book Alzheimer's, Widowed Stepmothers & Estate Crimes, where I tackle the issues that matter for families and individuals who have been wrongly disinherited.
In 2019 video will continue to play a key role in helping us spread our message and engage potential clients who deserve a fighting chance. Right now we have over 400 videos on our YouTube channel, and by the end of this year, we'll have over 500. We aim to make our content interesting, but whether 10,000 or only 10 people watch our videos, we are speaking to the one person out there who needs the information we share. As social media guru Gary Vaynerchuk expressed it,
"When you put others in front of yourself, whether intended or unintended, things just happen. It's magical. Be it in life or business, I implore you to always seek to be the giver first. If you can give without expectation, you've got everything to gain. It's not an easy trait to acquire but it's certainly something I advise everyone to work towards. Not only will it make you feel good, but it'll provide you the leverage that you can utilize if the opportunity comes knocking."
Hackard Law will be forging the path ahead as we further strengthen our presence in California estate, trust and probate litigation. From Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Diego to Alameda and Santa Clara, we pursue significant legal actions to safeguard client interests and hold wrongdoers to account. If you'd like to see how we could best help you, call us at 916-313-3030. We wish you a Happy New Year.
