I'm the author of the new book Alzheimer's, Widowed Stepmothers & Estate Crimes, available on Amazon in March 2019. As a trust litigation attorney with over four decades of experience, I have heard countless tales from clients and prospective clients whose family assets were plundered. The wrongdoers were so brazen, they believed they could get away with it just because they thought no one was watching.
Through all these experiences, I've learned there are useful lessons we can draw by taking a hard look at the three main causes of inheritance disputes: Alzheimer's disease, widowed stepmothers, and estate crimes. The book is divided into three sections, each section covering one of these major causes. My goal for the book is to help people toward justice and recovery, while also detailing significant "red flags" so they can be avoided.
It's my hope that this book will not only be informative but deeply useful to anyone facing disinheritance, a lost inheritance, or unequal inheritance. More is at stake than objects and property, important as those things may be. What ultimately matters are the family histories that can be so easily shattered through disputes, disease, and fraud. That said, recovery and even reconciliation are at times possible, just as there is a time for litigation and a time for healing.
