Traumatic Brain Injury and Vision Problems

Hi, I’m Mike Hackard from Hackard Law.

We help people who have been hurt or lost money due to someone else’s carelessness or misconduct. Many of these cases involve injuries caused by careless drivers in car accidents.

Car accidents cause about 1 in 4 traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). If you’re hurt in a crash, your settlement should cover these injuries.

TBIs can affect you in many ways. Some leading eye doctors say 90% of TBI patients have vision problems. This is a very high number. Many people with TBIs don’t realize their symptoms are from the car accident.

Watch out for warning signs like:

  • Blurry or double vision
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Eye strain and tiredness
  • Avoiding crowds
  • Bumping into objects
  • Trouble using a computer.
  • Can’t do daily tasks due to injury.
  • Can’t handle busy places with lots to look at.

Taking the Brain Injury Visual Symptom Survey can help figure out how bad the injury is.

Insurance companies are businesses that want to make money. In injury cases, we need to control the story. Part of our story is that “It’s Never Just an Accident.”

Being trusted is key in talks or in court. Respected experts help us stay credible. Giving good reasons to get paid for TBI damage is part of the process. It’s important to record all the losses, both money and other types, in injury cases.

If you want to talk to us about your case, call Hackard Law at 916-313-3030. We’re happy to talk with you.
